Construction at the new Hancher Auditorium is approaching the halfway point, a significant milestone in the creation of a new home for the performing arts on the University of Iowa campus. To celebrate, Hancher and Mortenson Construction invited the public to sign a beam that was placed into the structure. The “Leave Your Mark” event also included a public ceremony featuring Iowa native and UI grad, singer/songwriter Susan Werner.

Construction on the new Hancher Auditorium is about halfway finished, and officials are inviting people to sign a beam that will be installed inside the structure. Some of those who signed the beam Tuesday did so to show gratitude for what the auditorium means for the arts community.
