Construction on the new Hancher Auditorium is about halfway finished, and officials are inviting people to sign a beam that will be installed inside the structure. Some of those who signed the beam Tuesday did so to show gratitude for what the auditorium means for the arts community.

“Morocc’n Roll” is how Hoba Hoba Spirit has been billed for its show tonight at CSPS Hall, but don’t be fooled. This is not some slickly packaged world music. This band rocks, plain and simple.
On October 7 and 8, Hancher is inviting members of the public to sign a steel beam that will then be lifted into place in the organization’s new facility. The “Leave Your Mark” event will also include a public ceremony featuring singer/songwriter Susan Werner on October 8.
