On October 7 and 8, Hancher is inviting members of the public to sign a steel beam that will then be lifted into place in the organization’s new facility. The “Leave Your Mark” event will also include a public ceremony featuring singer/songwriter Susan Werner on October 8.

The City of Iowa City has released the following parking and transit information for the Iowa Soul Fest, set for Friday and Saturday. Closures: At 6 p.m. Thursday, Clinton Street between Washington and Jefferson Streets will be closed until the festival wraps up. At 6 a.m. Friday, Iowa Avenue between Dubuque and Clinton Streets will be closed through the conclusion of the festival. These streets are expected to be reopened around 2 a.m. Sunday.
