Critic Alex Ross calls the Brentano String Quartet “one of America’s finest, brainiest young quartets.” Formerly the quartet-in-residence at Princeton and now holding the same position at Yale, the Brentano String Quartet has been praised for its “seemingly infallible instincts for finding the center of gravity in every phrase and musical gesture” (Philadelphia Inquirer). The program will include selections from J.S. Bach's The Art of The Fugue; Benjamin Britten’s Quartet No. 3 in G Major, Op. 94; and Johannes Brahms's Quartet in B-flat Major, Op. 67.

A collaboration with the University of Iowa String Quartet Residency Program with further support from the Ida Cordelia Beam Distinguished Visiting Professor Program.

The quartet will be in residence October 12-17 with a variety of public events. More information at the University of Iowa String Quartet Residency Program web site.
