The 2022 Presidential Lecture will be a signature event in the University of Iowa's 175th anniversary, showcasing the UI's excellence in discovery and learning and bringing the knowledge of the our highest-achieving faculty to the campus and community. To commemorate this institutional milestone, three distinguished scholars from areas of special renown at the UI will each speak, followed by a moderated discussion. There will be a public reception immediately following.

Professor and Donald A. and Marie B. Gurnett Chair in the Department of Physics and Astronomy

Christopher Merrill
Professor of English and Director of the International Writing Program

Patricia Winokur
Professor of Internal Medicine-Infectious Diseases and Executive Dean of the Carver College of Medicine
