The Color Purple is the 2016 Tony Award® winner for Best Musical Revival! Hailed as “a direct hit to the heart” (The Hollywood Reporter), this joyous American classic about a young woman’s journey to love and triumph in the American South has conquered Broadway in an all-new “ravishingly reconceived production that is a glory to behold” (The New York Times).
The performance on Saturday, January 25, at 1 pm, will feature an American Sign Language interpreter. Audio Description is also available for this performance.

As the company of the Broadway tour of The Color Purple rehearsed their captivating show in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, recently, I had a chance to speak to actor Brandon A.
The Tony Award-winning revival of “The Color Purple,” emerging from a 1982 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker, a 1985 Steven Spielberg film starring Golden Globe-winner Whoopi Goldberg, and a 2005 Broadway musical, is coming to Hancher Auditorium in Iowa City on Jan. 24 and 25.
