In June, Thursday Nights at Hancher become Family Fun Nights at Hancher!

Join us each Thursday night in June for free events celebrating the arts! Family Fun Nights coincide with Thursday Nights at Hancher from 5:30 to 7 pm.

Parents / Guardians will be required to stay on-site at Hancher during their child(ren)'s participation at Family Fun Nights.

Some Family Fun Night activities require registration.

Celebrating Visual Arts with Big Picture Gallery & Studio

Thursday, June 20, 2019, 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
Smith Lobby in Hancher Auditorium

Participants will be introduced to the artist Vincent van Gogh, viewing and discussing his use of the elements of art in his paintings of sunflowers. Drawing and oil crayon techniques will be demonstrated. Using oil crayon on drawing paper, participants will create their own sunflower piece taking inspiration from van Gogh!

Open to students entering first through fifth grades. Limited to 25 participants.

Celebrating Dance

Thursday, June 27, 2018, 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm, 6:15 to 7:00 pm
The Auditorium, Hadley Stage

Chuy Renteria, Breaking/House Dance Instructor at All The Way Up Studio, will be leading two Hip-Hop dance workshops. The workshops will be a beginner’s guide to Hip-Hop grooves, moves, and musicality. Participants can expect some choreography and exploration of freestyle fundamentals, but above all, expect some fun!

HIP-HOP WORKSHOP 1: 5:30–6:15 pm
Open to students entering second and third grades.
Limited to 50 participants. Register online.

HIP-HOP WORKSHOP 2: 6:15–7:00 pm
Open to students entering fourth and fifth grades.
Limited to 50 registered children. Register online.
