In light of Gov. Kim Reynolds’ issuance of a State of Public Health Disaster Emergency, all Hancher programming for the remainder of 2020 has been canceled.
As detailed below, the Hancher Box Office will continue to serve patrons via email, but no in-person business will be conducted and the building will be closed to the public until further notice.
Cancellations include:
- March 25: Club Hancher with Melissa Aldana
- March 28: Los Angeles Master Chorale
- April 3-4: Beautiful – The Carole King Musical
- April 7: The Boston Pops on Tour
- April 14: Lecture by Bill Nye in partnership with the UI Lecture Committee
- April 18: ETHEL + Robert Mirabal
- April 21: Lecture by Steve Kroft in partnership with the UI College of Law
- April 24-26: Compagnia TPO
- April 30-May 2: Slingsby Theatre Company
- May 4: Danish String Quartet
- May 6: Culinary Arts Event with Maggie’s Farm Wood-Fired Pizza
Other canceled programs and events include:
- Thursday Nights at Hancher
- March 26 and April 23 Science on Tap programs
- Hancher Showcase retail hours
- Public tours of the facility
- The Guild Youth Art Show
- All rental events including socials, dinners, and receptions
- In-person service at the Hancher Box Office
The Hancher Box Office will be in touch with ticketholders for canceled events. Look for an email from the box office. Patrons without an email address on file will be contacted by phone.
This process will take time and we appreciate patron patience as we work through these changes.
Current ticketholders will have three options:
- Receiving a gift certificate for future events
- Making the ticket price a donation to Hancher
- Receiving a refund
Hancher Auditorium is committed to our patrons' and visitors' health and safety. We are committed to the urgency for limiting in-person contact during the pandemic. Therefore, the Hancher Box Office, Hancher Auditorium, and the Hancher Showcase are not open to the public until further notice.
