The Department of Dance presents a rich program of both new and restaged works by faculty members and creative collaborators as well as a work by distinguished guest choreographer Aaron Samuel Davis. 

Davis is an African American choreographer, performer, and teaching artist who has worked with David Rousseve/REALITY, The Limón Dance Company, David Dorfman Dance, Kyle Abraham/A.I.M, Raja Feather Kelly/The Feath3r Theory, Nicholas Leichter Dance, Giorgia Maddamma, Ben J. Riepe, and 10 Hairy Legs. He currently works as a performer with dance company Unusual Symptoms in residence at Theatre Bremen and is a cast member in the acclaimed immersive theatre work Sleep No More

Avoid the lines by making your food selections before you come to Hancher Auditorium. Cheese boards are only available through preorder and cannot be purchased on-site at the performance. Snacks and beverages will be available on-site.

When entering the University of Iowa Dance and Opera Costume Shop in Hancher Auditorium, every color and texture of fabric imaginable is illuminated in a bright, sunlit room. Since the spring 2022, the costume shop has worked to make outfits for the performers in Dance Gala, which will occur Nov. 10-11.
