Part of Hancher's Infinite Dream festival

This double bill brings together two astonishing projects for one evening of gripping artistry.

Love In Exile is the daring new collaboration from Grammy Award-winning singer Arooj Aftab, multi-instrumentalist Shahzad Ismaily, and iconic pianist Vijay Iyer. Occupying a space between jazz, creative music, and unflinching curiosity, Love In Exile is described by NPR as “a chronicle of shared experience, suffused with unfolding mystery and deep human connection.”

In These Times is a masterwork album from Chicago-based percussionist, composer, and producer Makaya McCraven, the culmination of years of writing, collaboration, and reflection of identity in this current era. McCraven and his stellar ensemble will perform the work in its entirety at the festival.
