The UI School of Music presents Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance, which will enchant audiences of all ages with swashbuckling pirates, rapturous young maidens, bumbling policemen, and an eccentric, fast-talking Major General, all coming together to create an adventure of epic proportions. This much-loved opera is a showcase of brilliant humor and razor-sharp wit featuring a sparkling score full of memorable melodies and catchy tunes.

The University of Iowa Opera Theatre embarks on its first production in the new Hancher Auditorium presenting W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan’s "The Pirates of Penzance" with performances at 7:30 p.m. April 21 and 2 p.m. April 23.
