Dance Gala Pre-Show Talk

Prior to both performances of Dance Gala, UI dance faculty will discuss their creative process and the works in Dance Gala 2017. Student performers will also join the discussion.

UI dance faculty choreographer Jennifer Kayle will moderate the discussion both evenings. She will be joined by Armando Duarte, Kristin Marrs, and Dan Fine on Friday and by Charlotte Adams and Eloy Barragán on Saturday, in addition to Christopher Rasheem-McMillan, who is rehearsal director for the work by New York choreographer, Monica Bill Barnes. Dance Department Chair Rebekah Kowal (Saturday) and faculty Michael Sakamoto (Friday) will give a brief overview of the event, its history, and its significance for the department, the university, and the community.
