An audacious drummer, emcee, singer, and producer reinvents hip-hop classics as jazz.
Throughout his career, Kassa Overall has moved effortlessly across the lines that connect jazz and rap—two of America’s most enduring musical inventions. Drawing from Cream, his most recent album on Warp Records, Overall’s setlist will mine classics from Notorious B.I.G., Wu-Tang Clan, Dr. Dre, OutKast, and other hip-hop standouts, reimagining them as jazz standards.
Interested in dinner and a show? Buffet-style dinner service will be available from 5:30–6:30 p.m. in the second-floor Stanley Café ahead of this performance. Our team of UI chefs will curate a special meal inspired by the festival’s themes.

- Concessions open 30 minutes before the performance.
- Preordered food is not available for Club Hancher performances.
