What would happen on Earth after humans disappeared?

This experimental opera—created by cutting edge musician and actress Gelsey Bell—inhabits a world where humans no longer exist. A highly acclaimed ensemble of five vocalist/multi-instrumentalists guide the audience through the changes on Earth as forests grow back, new species evolve, and the human-made world erodes away. Fantastical and playful, the piece explores the dire political and ethical contradictions structuring current human relations with nature.

Interested in dinner and a show? Buffet-style dinner service will be available from 5:30–6:30 p.m. in the second-floor Stanley Café ahead of this performance. Our team of UI chefs will curate a special meal inspired by the festival’s themes.
