Billy Hart’s history is full of famous names like Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner, and Stan Getz. He’s played a remarkable role in the evolution of 20th century jazz, but Hart isn’t caught in the past. His work is current and vital. Alongside the members of his enduring quartet—Ethan Iverson (piano), Craig Handy (saxophone), and Ben Street (bass)—he is pushing jazz toward the future.
